The Food Pyramid has undergone revision over the years, and a newer one is now presented by the USDA, but the principle is the same. Base your regular lifestyle and habits on simple principles about exercise, food and drink. Regardless of what you eat, or how much, your body will do better if you build a solid foundation on daily exercise and weight control. Most of your daily food intake should include proportionally larger portions of such things as whole grain foods, plant oils, vegetables and fruits. Smaller percentages of such things as nuts, legumes, fish, eggs, poultry, and dairy products are suggested. Small amounts of lean and red meat, bleached food, sodas and sweets is better for you.
